Memorial Day Weekend

We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend with some of our best friends. Every Memorial Day we head down the Texas coast to Port Aransas for some fun in the sun. I'm going to admit, I was a little nervous about balancing "fun" (like we used to have) and "fun" with a 7 month old, but it turned out great! Audrey had a blast playing with Colin, Iva and Randy's 14 month old little boy, and wearing her bathing suits to take naps in the ocean breeze.

Here are a lot of pictures...
Here are Colin and Audrey the first evening when we got there. It was an interesting meeting...Colin wanted to hug and kiss Audrey (he is so sweet!), but she just wanted to pull his hair. It's so cute to see them together...they are going to be such great friends!

Friday the guys went to play some golf, so us girls loaded up the kids and headed to HEB to do some shopping for the weekend. We moved Audrey's car seat into Iva's car and Colin and her sat side by side while Colin watched his Baby Einstein videos. (By the way, I can't wait till Audrey can sit facing forward so she doesn't miss out like she did...so not fair!!!) Anyway, here they are holding hands, when Colin got tired of holding hands he would put his foot by her head so she could hold his foot. Too cute!
It was a beautiful weekend and the water looked the best it has in years for Port A!

After we got back from the store we decided to head to the pool. Here is my little munchkin dressed to hang out by the pool. They do not allow diapers in the pool so she just stayed in her little beach romper.

Napping with Daddy in the shade out by the pool. She slept for over an hour so I got to catch some much needed sun! :)

On Saturday we got ready and headed down the boardwalk to the beach. We set up camp right in front of our condos in case we needed to make a quick exit, but Audrey had fun on the beach!

The Rose's have this tent for the little ones that is SPF protected, plus we set it up under our tarp. Colin slept while Audrey and I played with all his beach toys. Not that Colin really played with them anyway...he is a non-stop, on the go, little boy. He would much rather be running in the sand and water than sitting and digging. Poor Iva...she is always chasing him!

After Colin's nap we took them to the water. Colin has no fear...such a little surfer dude!!!
Here is our precious little girl sinking her hands and toes into the wet sand. Check out that cute little belly! Classic picture!!!

After some fun in the sun she was wiped out, so here she is using the "Nap Tent". She took a nice long nap listening to the waves crashing and the ocean breeze flowing through the tent. I was thinking that I would get one of these tents, set it up in the backyard with a couple fans and bring her sound machine (that she sleeps to) out set on ocean waves so that I can layout every once in awhile. Maybe not, there are still bugs and it's way too hot!!!

Randy holding Audrey and Colin trying to get a kiss. I think she was actually pulling him close to her this time!

Guess what Audrey did by the pool on Sunday??? Yes, she napped!
Here's Bryan reading People and babysitting her while I got to layout with the girls in the sun. Such a good Daddy!!!

He finally stood still long enough for me to catch a quick picture...but he still shot me that look like, "Come'on no pictures!"

Here are the guys playing shuffle board. They kept complaining that I was not taking any pictures of them this year. Usually they are our entertainment, but I guess with the kiddos they got a little jealous. So here are some of our "Normal" Memorial Day pictures.

My GREAT job of applying sunscreen on Bryan. Yes, even with the continuous spray Coppertone I missed the whole back of his arm!

Okay...just a little warning, Audrey officially got her first kiss on this trip. Call it what you will, a summer fling, or whatever but all these two lovable kids wanted to do was KISS. It was really sweet (an kind of gross since both of them kiss big open mouth slobbery kisses) but someday when they are teenagers we will show them these pictures. Crazy thought!!!

Flirting???
Moving in...
What? It wasn't me!

We had a great Memorial Day weekend!!!

Happy 7 Months!!!

Our chickadee is 7 months old today! We are now calling her a chickadee because of all her new fuzzy hair growth that just stands straight up, like a baby chicks new hair. Check it out...I passed on the bow for this photo shoot to show it. I swear it grows every night, and look at how light it is coming in. I promise she had DARK brown hair when she was born, but after it all fell out it's growing in this blondish-light brown color.

I know that I sound like a broken record player, but I can not believe how fast time is going and how fast she is growing. Everyday I'm amazed at how big she is getting...she is such a big girl. Then I remind myself that she is still tiny compared to how she is going to be in another month, 5 months or a year from now, and it makes me just smile and appreciate where and what she is doing today.
I love you little chicken!

Bryan's Birthday Astros Game

Last Saturday we headed downtown to celebrate Bryan's birthday at his favorite bar/restaurant and at the ball park to see the Houston Astros. It was a really fun day with our little family.

Here are my two favorite people at The Flying Saucer!

Audrey riding on Daddy's shoulders as we were walking in to Minute Maid Park. It was really funny...usually women go crazy over a cute baby with a bow on, but as we were walking in men were stopping us to tell us how precious she was....I guess it's a Dad thing! I loved it!

As usual I grabbed someone to take our picture before we went down to our seats.
I snapped this picture of Audrey, it came out really blurry but I loved it anyway. She looks so happy!

Noise? What noise? She can sleep through anything...here she is asleep half way through the 1st inning.

And in the 3rd inning...At this rate we thought she would sleep the whole game!

I think she woke up in the 4th and made it through the whole game. She is such a people watcher (like her Mommy). Here she is catching a ride out on Daddy's shoulders again. It was the cutest thing, as soon as he put her up there she would start laughing and screaming in her high pitch scream. I guess the view is that much more exciting up there!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

We had a great Mother's Day, it was a long busy day, but wonderful! The day started early with church this morning where we had some very interesting guest speakers talk about mothers and respect in our marriage. After church we headed to Bryan's mom's house for lunch. She loves Sonic so instead of fighting the Mother's Day crowds at restaurants Arianne picked up some yummy Sonic! Of course Grandma Marcia, Grandpa Craig and Aunt Arianne had to have some of their Audrey time.

(Just after I pried my hair out of her little hands)

(Audrey wishing Grandma a Happy Mother's Day)

Later this evening we headed to meet my "whole" family at a local Mexican Restaurant. We meet there every year for Mother's Day dinner with reservations for 40. Yes, I said 40! We get together and celebrate all the Moms in our family with margaritas and chips & salsa. It's always a good time until the guys (boys) of the family start the annual food fight. Anything that they can get their hands on starts flying across the room. The boys start it, but anyone that ended up having too many margaritas or who got slammed on the side of the head with a lemon slice get in the mix by firing back. It's amazing we are allowed to come back to this restaurant year after year!

Half of the table. (The other half was all the guys, not picture worthy!) just kidding!
(Audrey wishing Mammo a Happy Mother's Day)

(In her high chair!)

After way too much food and fun, we headed back to my parents house so the guys could play poker. Mammo and Pappo also got their dose of Audrey. It seems the weekends are just not long enough for everyone to get to spend as much time as they would like with her.

Here is a picture of my Mother's Day flowers (the tulips are starting to look a little rough since they got delivered Friday morning...they were beautiful!) and my cute Coach purse that Bryan and Audrey got me. Such a great surprise!

Anyway, we had a fun Mother's Day celebrating it with lots of great Moms!!!

Happy Mother's Day to all those Moms out there!!!

Grocery Shopping and the Lost Bow!

I finally got our grocery/high chair cover in...and I love it. I couldn't wait to go out and use it now that Audrey is sitting really stable by herself for long periods of time. I went out to eat with my mom, but forgot the camera in the car...so no pictures of her in it at the restaurant. But like the dork that I am...I took a picture of her in Kroger, right in front of the deli. She loved sitting up and seeing everything. She was really good till she realized that I was puting stuff behind her and once the basket started filling up she decided she had to have everything I was putting in it. Pretty soon she was almost turned all the way around.

Here are the pictures. She looked super cute in her little blue and white outfit (it has a fish and flowers on it, and her matching blue and white bow...which is one of my favorites!)

Well half way through the store I look down at her and notice that her headband is around her face and the bow is gone! I search all around her and it's not there, so I start to retrace my steps. I know that she had it on the isle before where we were, but it's not there. Where is it? I waste some time just walking around asking a couple employees if they have had it turned in...which they hadn't. Surely someone would turn it in...right? Well, no. I finally gave up and went and checked out and got asked "He's so cute, how old is he?" which is totally understandable I had her in a blue and white striped outfit with no bow!

On my way out I stopped by the Customer Service desk and they told me to check back every time I come in because it could have gotten kicked under some shelves and they might not find it for awhile. Darn it!

A New Bath!

Daddy picked out a new bath for Audrey. We decided that now that she is sitting up in her bath and occasionally slipping or toppling over we should get something that would be a little softer for her to bump against. So on a quick trip to Walmart we picked up this pink inflatable ducky and some foam letters. Daddy picked it out...it even quacks!

She loves it and it's the perfect size for her! (At least for a couple months!)
