My Birthday Fun!

I had a wonderful birthday weekend! Friday night Bryan and I went out to eat without the girls at Flemings Steakhouse in The Woodlands. It was so nice to have an adult dinner, just the two of us! It has been way too long. I have forgotten what it's like to have adult conversations without having to color or cut up Audrey's food. We had a really nice time!
Saturday, my actual birthday, I woke up and went for a run, then had an hour and a half massage while Bryan watched the girls. It was like my own little spa day! We took naps and then got ready to go to dinner with the whole family at Buca di Beppo. It was a loud, yummy dinner with way too much food! Here are some pictures...

Audrey was more excited about my birthday than I was. She calls birthdays "Happys" and is such a little party planner that she told Bryan that we needed hats, balloons and cake!

While we were in the restaurant the lights started blinking, so we got up to look out on the patio and the sky looked so ominous. It was so windy and it looked like a tornado could drop out of the sky any minute. We loaded everything up and rushed out to the car. It was an exciting drive home with lots of wind, rain and such huge cloud to ground lightning strikes right in front of us. The whole family came over after to open presents and wait out the storm.

Sunday after a great service at church and a nap, we got our pool stuff together and headed over to my parents house to have a little pool party with Allyson, Matt and Abby. It has been awhile since we have all gotten together. The girls were so cute together...they loved swimming!

The girls with Pappo!

Natalie in her little sun suit. No swimming for her yet!
The girls and their Daddy's!

Laying out catching some rays!

After some burgers and pasta salad my mom let the girls hide in the cabinet. This was the best game ever! They never got tired of it and every time we opened the doors they would burst out giggling. It was so cute!

Audrey didn't want to quit, so when we refused to close the doors on her anymore she decided to just "hide" herself! "We don't see you Audrey!"

Overall it was a great birthday with family and friends...what more could I ask for!

Audrey's cake

Audrey is always pretend cooking and eating and she is always making chocolate cake! (I wonder where she got that taste from! I promise, for real, she never eats cake. For the longest time she would not even try it!) Anyway, so one afternoon, (before Natalie was born) I decided to make a cake with her. She LOVED it!
Her choice to decorate it with strawberries and blueberries. Believe me it was hard to keep her from eating all of them before they made it on the cake!

Yummy! She finally got to eat her chocolate cake!

Blankie sleeps

Audrey has a new nap place. It's on the floor in our living room with her blankies! When she is tired she says; "Blankie sleeps" and runs to grab the blankets and lays down. It has worked great because before Natalie was born I was fighting with her everyday at nap time. It was miserable! So since she is going to be taking naps on the floor on a nap mat at school this year I went and bought her the nap mat so she gets used to it and actually likes it! Hopefully it will help the transition for school. (By the way, that is Sadie lying next to her...they love napping with her!)

Horsey rides with Dada!

She rides on his back and then he lays down and goes to "sleep." To get the horsey to get up and go again she gives him a kiss. Now I know why this is his favorite thing to do with her...he gets kisses!

4th of July

It was a pretty laid back day. We went to my parents house and let Audrey swim, and then went out to eat at Barnaby's downtown. My brother lives downtown so we parked at his house and then walked on block over to the restaurant. They have such good "fresh" food...I wish we had one out here. (Maybe I'll look into opening one up in Vintage Park! ha!) We then walked back to his house and prepared to watch the fireworks show from his third story patio. It was a great view, but Audrey didn't like the show. My dad was holding her and she got worried so he took her back inside. Then she started pointing at me and Bryan telling us to come inside too. Such a worry-wart! We changed her into her jammies and left before the finale so we could beat some of the traffic. Maybe next year she will be more excited about the fireworks, although Natalie will probably be scared by then!
