(Me & Bryan in Amarillo, TX on my 29th Birthday!)
So the next day we are on the road again and headed to beautiful Red River! After driving through the flat plains of Texas we finally could see the mountains in the distance and eventually pulled up to our cabin.
Here are some of our pictures of my crazy family in Red River.
(Mom and I tormenting Bryan)
(Amy & Eric before horseback riding)
(Dad on his mule- he doesn't remember his name)
(Eric on his big butt horse that had a little gas problem...like Eric!)
Bryan was taking all the pictures when they were horseback riding so there are no pictures of him, but he was on the biggest mule ever...his name was Andre. Anyway, this mule was so big that they had to get Bryan a step stool to mount him. I was not there to see this in person, (being pregnant and all) but he drove me by the stables later that day to show me his giant mule.
(In Taos at a Mexican Restaurant)

(Lara and her Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Friend - I loved their Chocolate Ice Cream!)
(Bryan, Eric, Amy, Lara & Dad on a fun 4-Wheeling ride)
(Lara & Eric)
(Bryan & Dad)
Since 4-Wheeling is not the safest and smartest thing to do when you are pregnant my mom and had a nice morning in town. We went out to eat breakfast at the Old Timers Cafe and do a little jewelry shopping at Frye's. When we got back to the cabin the gang was just pulling up. They were full of stories of how Amy drove off the side of the mountain, how she rear-ended Eric, and how Lara was a little daredevil slowing down to only speed up and go real fast through the huge mud puddles. The best story though was that Bryan somehow stalled on an incline and managed to run over his own leg and foot. He was bruised from his ankle to below his knee for weeks. When they were telling me all of this and showing me the pictures I got all emotional and started crying. (blame it on being pregnant!) I was just bummed that I was not in any of these pictures or had any crazy stories to tell...I'm just so used to being involved and active. But I'm glad that they all had a blast...and took some great pictures for us.
We had a wonderful time in Red River, and I know that when we got back home I was depressed. I wanted to sleep with our windows open, I wanted to walk out and see the mountains, the blue sky and breath that cool mountain air. I realized that I hate the summer heat, the traffic, and the concrete jungle that we call home. Of course now Red River feels like it's a million miles away, and I am again used to our day to day life, but looking back at these pictures I can't wait to go back and hopefully take our little girl there so she will have some of these memories.

(A last look down Main in Red River...I miss it!)
