I'm 30!!!

I turned 30 last Friday and had a great birthday weekend. Thursday Bryan and I went out for lunch and then to Cirque du Soleil - Saltimbanco at the Toyota Center. We love Cirque du Soleil and have seen the shows that have traveled through Houston and almost all of the shows in Vegas. We had a great time!

Friday, my actual birthday, we went out to eat at with the whole family at this great little neighborhood italian restaurant called Mezzanotte. Their food is excellent and it has a great atmosphere where you forget that you are not downtown or in another city, but in your own neighborhood.

Saturday night we went out and partied to bring in my 30's. We met all our friends at The Flying Saucer downtown for a couple beers and then we went to The Shot Bar to party and dance. I had a blast! Here are some pictures from that night. We took a lot more, but not with my camera so this is all I have.

No Way...Nine Months Old!!!

Yes, it's the broken record player again...I can not believe Audrey is NINE months old!!! I mean I am at the point where I am starting to think about her first birthday party. It's crazy!!!

I was really melancholy this past Sunday. To the point where I felt anxiety about it all. I think it was a combination of my (uh-em) 30th Birthday and the thought that Audrey is only three months away from being one. I love the age she is at now with her little personality and that she does something new every day.

Here are some new things this month...

  • She wakes up every morning and I feed her and then take her to our bed and she sleeps in with me. When she wakes up she crawls to the edge of the bed and looks for "The Puppies," Millie and Sadie. She waves to them and smiles. It melts my heart every morning!

  • She sits on the floor in the kitchen and plays with her "toys" (Tupperware and pots) while I fix her breakfast. She usually has some kind of fruit (like nectarines, mangos, grapes, strawberries, pears, or apples and oatmeal) and gets so excited when I sign "eat" to her.

  • She loves watching Sesame Street. I tape it every morning and we watch it around 11am.
  • She doesn't like getting her diaper changed...she arches her back and tries to throw a fit. I have to distract her with a wet one or a small game of peek-a-boo.

  • She loves Gymboree class on Saturdays. Bryan takes her and they have "Daddy and Me" bonding time. She is known as the social baby because all she does is pay attention to what everyone else is doing and try to crawl towards them. She still tries to grab and kiss whoever she can!

  • She has a little temper...yes, if you take away something that she is playing with (for example a piece of paper) she goes in for the kill and tries to bite your hand off. Yes, with anger. Luckily she has only done this three times. I have been working on the disciplining an eight month old...not an easy thing to do, but she hasn't done it in a couple weeks so maybe we are over that phase (for now at least!)

  • She is ticklish and after I tickle her for a little while she gives me the biggest kiss. Like, "Here Mommy I'll give you a kiss if you stop tickling me!"

  • She will play by herself but always wants to know where you are. After a little while she crawls over and pulls up on my leg because she wants to sit in my lap and cuddle. When she finishes cuddling she arches her back and wants back down to play.

  • She will crawl clear across the house to get one of the dogs toys.

  • She gives high fives just so she can celebrate and do her little clap where she rolls her fists around eachother and smiles and makes the "Yay" noise!

  • She will eat anything I put in front of her. She usually makes one "gross" face and then decides she likes it and eats it all. For dinner she has been eating chicken, green beans, sweet potato, peas and pretty much anything I make for dinner just pureed a little.

  • She loves her Nuby sippy cup!

  • No teeth yet, but the doctor says she has a little swelling at her bottom two teeth...so maybe soon!

  • She points at everything. When someone picks her up she starts pointing around the room and babbling like she is showing you "This is my house and those are my puppies and that is the table." It's really cute.

  • She absolutely loves Peek-a-boo! She sits there and looks around the corner where you are hiding waiting for you to reappear. When you do she lets out the biggest, cutest laugh! She never gets tired of playing...I love it!

  • She has this growl fake laugh that she does. I will do the growl-laugh noise and then she will do it and wait for us to laugh at her.

  • She still scrunches up her nose and makes that funny face and occasionally snorts with it. She has so many funny expressions!

Here are her measurements from her 9 Month check-up this morning:

Weight: 18 lbs & 12 oz (5oth percentile)
Height: 28" (60th percentile)
Head Circumfrence: 45cm (50th percentile)
