6 Months!

Now that we know that we are having a little girl...the planning has begun.

I have a picture in my head of what I want the nursery to look like, so now I just need to make it reality. I am painting the room a teal color, and then having a muralist come and paint a cherry blossom tree in the corner of the room. The trunk of the tree will be a dark chocolate brown (to match the furniture) and it will have light pink flowers on it. I'm not really a girlie-girl, so it's hard for me to paint the room pink. I thought I would tie the pink in with the flowers on the wall and then do light pink bedding. (It's sort of hard to visualize, so as soon as we get going on it I will be sure to post pictures!)

Bryan and I went a couple weeks ago and ordered the crib and dresser. Here is the convertible crib we ordered that will turn into a toddler bed, and then a full size bed for when she gets older.
Lastly, Bryan and I have been discussing names, but we have not narrowed it down yet. I promise she will have a name when she is born though! :)
I have been doing good. I have lots of energy and can pretty much go all day from 7am till I crash on the couch...whatever time that is. (sometimes 9pm or as late as midnight). I have been feeling her move for about a month now, but she is getting stronger and it is more constant. She has been bumping and rolling a lot today...everyone says that she is trying to tell me to make her more room to grow.

IT'S A GIRL!!!

Bryan and I went to the doctor this afternoon and we're having a baby GIRL! We are so excited and can't wait to start planning and preparing for her arrival.

We went out to dinner tonight to celebrate and then went to the mall and decided to make her a teddy bear at the Build a Bear Workshop. We picked out a really cute brown teddy bear to remember the day we found out that we were having a girl. At the stuffing station Bryan and I each picked up a heart to put in the bear and before they sewed it up we both kissed the heart and made a wish. After our bear was stuffed and ready to go, we picked out a little white t-shirt that said "It's a Girl!" on it and some little pink bows for it's ears. It is so cute and will look adorable in our baby girl's nursery!

Boy or Girl?

Here is a picture of me at 20 weeks. Halfway through the pregnancy. It's funny how sometimes I look really pregnant and others...not so much. It really depends on what I am wearing. :)

So we have our doctor's appointment, with an ultrasound, this Thursday. We are so excited to finally see our baby again since it has been almost 10 weeks! We were so spoiled in the beginning going to the specialist and seeing it grow from nothing to a tiny baby week by week...10 weeks has been an eternity. So the day after tomorrow we will get another glimpse at the baby, and hopefully it cooperates and shows us what it is. Either way, boy or girl, we will be so happy!!!

Until then here is a little quiz that I took online to help me determine whether it is a boy or a girl using old wives tales.

You have a 30% chance of having a boy.

And you have a 69% chance of having a girl.

And Here's Why...You are carrying the extra weight out front, so it's a boy.

The hair on your legs is not growing any faster during your pregnancy, so it's a girl.

Boys are carried low. You are going to have a boy.

Sleeping in a bed with your pillow to the south indicates that you will be having a girl.

Your feet are not colder than they were before pregnancy. You are having a girl.

You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread. You are having a girl.

Dad-to-be hasn't been gaining weight along with Mom-to-be, so it will be a girl.

The maternal grandmother doesn't have gray hair (dyed or natural), so a girl will be born.

You had morning sickness early in pregnancy, so you are expecting a girl.

You are not looking particularly good during pregnancy. Therefore, it must be a girl, because girls steal their mother's looks.

Your chest development has not been very dramatic during pregnancy. You should expect a boy.

Since the sum of the mother's age at conception and the number of the month of conception is even, it will be a boy.

A needle on a thread held over your belly moves in circles, so you will have a boy.

Your urine is a dull yellow color, so you will have a girl.

You have a craving for salty or sour foods, which means that it is a boy.

Your nose hasn't changed during pregnancy, which indicates a girl.

You have been craving fruits, so it is a girl.

Your baby's heart rate is 140 or more beats per minute, so it's a girl.

You must have orange juice every day, so it's a girl.

You are not having headaches, so it's a girl.

Your belly looks like a watermelon, so it's a girl.

You show them the palm of your hand, so it's a girl.

You use the handle, so it's a boy.
