Quick Catch Up!

Okay...Sorry I have not posted in a couple weeks. I just really have not had that much to write about. So I guess "No news...is good news." Right?

So here it goes...

My little sister, Lara, graduated from High School in May. We went to her graduation service that was held in College Station at Reed Arena. (Flashback for me to 7 years ago when I graduated from A&M there.) Anyway, it was a long ceremony, especially since she graduated in the top ten percent so her name was the 24th name called out of almost 600. She is super smart and we are so proud of her. She will be going to Texas A&M this Fall and majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Class of 2012! Whoop!

I did go shopping at Pickles & Ice Cream a couple of weeks ago (as I said I wanted to in my last post) with my mom. She came and picked me up early from work and we went to the Galleria area and did some "damage". We had a lot of fun goofing off in the store. The ladies there were really nice and helped a lot with picking out different outfits. I'm really not showing "that much" yet, so most of those maternity clothes just sort of hang there and aren't that cute yet. The store knows this and so they have a fake belly bump to try on with the clothes to know how they are going to look when you get huge. It was neat to see myself like that, and it made me want to have a baby bump like that. (I guess minus all the discomfort that comes along with it.) But hey, it looked cute!

I went to my OB appointment last week. I was going to post after it, but sort of left there a little depressed that I think I might have upset my doctor. I knew that we were not going to be able to do an ultrasound yet, but it's hard going there when you look forward to it for a month and then for it to be so routine. I go and pee in a cup, they listen to the heartbeat (which is always amazing!) and then press on my stomach. The doctor asks if I have any concerns or anything we need to talk about and that's about it. As she was finishing up the appointment she says, "Okay I'll see you in a month." When she said this I replied with, "A MONTH?" She sat up straight like I had offended her and said that, "Yes, we will do an ultrasound in a month." I normally would have been fine with this, since I am pretty easy going and do as I am told, but at my last appointment in May she told me that she would see me in a month (when I was 18 weeks) and then bring me back in two weeks (when I was 20 weeks) to do the ultrasound where we would probably be able to tell the sex of the baby. So I was already counting down those two weeks, when she told me a month I was just shocked. I know I probably should not have reacted the way that I did, but what can I say, I'm excited and can't wait. So after our little discussion she told me that we would compromise and she would see me in three weeks. So our appointment is July 3rd. We can't wait!!!
